Christmas In Bethlehem

(continued from front page)

Our humanitarian action team is leading our response effort and is working in coordination with our network of trusted local partners in the region. At this time, we are focused on delivering emergency aid to those who need it most.

In Gaza, we’re delivering essential supplies — including diapers, feminine hygiene products, laundry powder and more — enough for more than 10,000 people. The items are being carried by an aid truck through the one and only gate into Gaza. Every item on the truck was provided by generous LWR Supporters.

In Lebanon, where violence has escalated at the border with Israel, our local team is delivering emergency food to people who fled their homes for safety. We are also in the early stages of planning a shipment of LWR Quilts, Personal Care Kits and Baby Care Kits to Lebanon.

We expect that our response will only expand as this conflict continues, and will continue to email updates to donors who have made it possible.

We are coordinating with local organizations and other international humanitarian organizations to ensure aid is delivered effectively, without duplication, and meeting most urgent needs. At this time, we are focused on delivering emergency aid to those who need it most.

It is a very tough environment requiring us to remain nimble. There are plans in works and we are only communicating what is confirmed….

Know that the work of bringing dignity and hope to people continues!

We will have more updates ahead. Thank you to everyone who has supported Lutheran World Relief here at Ascension, through your generous giving and volunteer work through our Kits of Care drives and quilt making this year.
