Pismo Beach Retreat Recap

The Senior Luther League Youth Group experienced a beautiful weekend on their recent weekend trip to Pismo Beach.

The focus for the weekend was Hebrews 6:18-19, which says, “So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”

With this verse before us, we talked about God’s promises as the anchor for our hope no matter what challenges or celebrations come our way. Each youth (and chaperone) was given a different promise of God to reflect on for a day and share later. As each person shared what the verse meant to them, it was clear that God was speaking to each person with a promise they needed that weekend. It was an incredible reminder of how God knows and loves each of us and is always present with us.

In addition to this meaningful faith building, a lot of pure joy, laughter and fun seemed to permeate nearly every moment. From prepping and cooking meals, to throwing Frisbee, exploring sand dunes, collecting sand dollars and seashells, sunset swims, fire pit dinners, meaningful conversation, and worship together, there was so much to be grateful for as we connected with and grew closer to one another.

If you’re a high schooler, you are always welcome every Sunday at 5:00-6:30 in the dugout for Bible Study, and you are also invited on future trips and activities. Look for announcements through emails, Instagram, and the church newsletter, or reach out any time to Dianne Beck, Youth Director, at . We’re scheduling many of our fall and winter events with class reps in the coming week and are excited to share them with you!
