This Week At Ascension

Called to create opportunities for all people to become devoted followers of Christ

July 7, 2024

Calling of the Apostles

Grace and peace to you my family in Christ,

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Galatians 5:1

Happy 4th of July y’all! I hope your 4th is a joyful one and that you can pray a prayer of gratitude on this day, remembering how grateful we are for the freedoms that we, as citizens of the United States, possess.

Sadly, there are many Christian brothers and sisters around the world who don’t have the freedom to worship without fear of persecution or who can’t talk about their faith openly without fear of being incarcerated. We have this freedom!

So let’s celebrate and join the generations of people who have come before us in the efforts to pass it along to the generations after us.

Finally, let’s exercise this freedom to worship at church this weekend so that we can remember a deeper freedom that is given to us by pure grace through our faith in Jesus—freedom from the slavery of sin. See you in worship!

Blessings,
