Called to create opportunities for all people to become devoted followers of Christ

June 26, 2022

Friends in Christ,

Jesus is not just comforting; He’s also demanding! Why?

Perhaps this line from an old hymn explains it: “Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.”

If you’re starting to feel complacent or comfortable or just want to get better at following, come to church, and let Jesus shake you up a bit.

You’ll also want to join us for the congregational meeting on Sunday at 10:10.

In gratitude for all the ways you are the hands and feet of Jesus,

Summer Sunday School

This summer, we’re trying something new and focusing on hands-on projects in Sunday School, as we have tons of fun and learn about the fruits of the Spirit.

This summer, we’ll move Sunday School back to being during our 9 am service, just for the summer.  Be sure to give Pastor Julie your feedback about which option you prefer.

Join us, even if you’ve been away for a while!

Children age 3-6th grade will leave after the children’s message and can be picked up at the picnic tables.

If you plan to have your child attend and haven’t registered them yet, please do so HERE prior to sending them: LINK

Summer Schedule:

June 26: No Sunday School
July 3-August 28:  Sunday School!
Sept. 4: Labor Day Weekend, no Sunday School
Sept. 11: Rally Sunday, with food and games after worship.

Can’t wait to see you this summer!

Looking for an easy way to help with VBS?

Adopt a Prop for VBS!

This weekend, we’ll have paper bags out filled with all the supplies and instructions needed to make one or more props for VBS.

Grab one (or more) bag(s), go home, and make the props for us at home on your own time.

If you can, bring them back to the church office by the following Sunday, July 3 (or Tuesday July 5, if you’re away that weekend).

These require no artistic ability–just the ability to follow directions.  We can’t wait to see your creations!

Flat Jesus Challenge

Pastor Julie recently talked about the Flat Jesus Challenge in her Children’s Chat at worship. Kids can color in this drawing of Jesus and take it with them wherever they go! It’s a vacation time activity that reminds us Jesus is with us always, near or far.

Here are the instructions:

Take me with you on vacation…To the beach, the park, and even the gas station. Snap a pic and include me, too. Remember I am always with you!

Download your Flat Jesus HERE.

Post pics on facebook or Instagram—and tag Ascension

Willing hands needed:

Saturday July 9 & Sunday July 10, afternoon

We need people to help decorate for VBS!

Decorations will already be planned and purchased—this is the fun part of making it all come to life!

We will also have some need for prior help in assembling things, so if you want to help but can’t help on the day of, please let me know.

Youth are welcome to help, too! If you can help (for a few minutes or a few hours) email
